Yee Haw!

K:

So we left Pigeon Forge yesterday, sadly.....but obviously I hope to be back soon especially to finally visit Dollywood, but not after 5pm…or on a Tuesday...or on Thursday. Anyhoo, we arrived in Nashville early, got settled into a Sheraton, after the Motrel we had to splurge a little bit, and headed out for lunch. D has decided, fairly I think, that we shouldn't eat at any chain restaurants sooooo we did what anyone in search of a great local lunch spot would do, we asked a group of construction workers and a policeman. Word on the street was to hit a place called Piranha’s for a great sandwich! Oh and what a sandwich it was. The menu was intimidating so I ordered and I quote “Whatever sandwich you think best represents you.” What I got was two pieces of Italian ham, provolone, special sauce, fried egg, cole slaw and fries….all stacked between two pieces of Italian bread. D ordered the burger, we got a side order of fried pickles and both of us ate like we just came home from the joint. What we didn’t get though was the house special…a burger, cheese, fixings stacked on top of two glazed donuts. Did you just reread that sentence….it’s true I said GLAZED donuts! I think I love Nashville!

Onto our nights activities which included 4 bars, lots of live music, a rose made out of napkins, and a lil’ love from the boots salesman who seemed to only want me for my fitness advice. D almost got smooshed several times because unlike Boston, almost everyone seems pretty tall. We went to the famous Tootsie’s and that was a ton of fun…the band had a female fiddle player who was insane, and the band was amazing. We also stopped by Rippy’s, The Stage and the Wild Horse Saloon. A little line dancing as well and well it was just as “Nashville” as Nashville gets.

We hit the Country Music Hall of Fame this morning….that was interesting. I now know a bleep-ton about Hank Williams and Tammy Wynette. Go ahead…ask me anything…..After that we hit the road, making a pit stop in Memphis to see Graceland (just look at it, unfortunately we left to late to actually visit it). Several people told me to eat at Rendevous as well, so I think that’s in our future. Staying in…wait for it....Little Rock, Arkansas tonight. Whoa it’s gonna be nuts!  Tell you all about it tomorrow!

So much Sexy you don't even neeeed the second F! I miss Pigeon forge already!

War Memorial in Nashville

TN State Capitol

Its the Pihrana's Special. And yes the slaw and fries are IN the sandwich! We opted NOT to get the Pihrana burger...aka a burger with two glazed donuts for the bun.

Next up a little live music and line dancing!
